Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman picked up two wickets for 30 runs in Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) massive 63-run win in their second match against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

The Cutter-Master now has six wickets in the two matches he played in the tournament and is currently the purple cap holder.

CSK batting first posted 206/6 on the scoreboard and then restricted GT by 143/8. This is the second consecutive win for the defending champions of this season.

On the other hand, this is the biggest defeat for GT by runs.

CSK Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad handed over the ball to Mustafizur in just second over the match.

Fizz conceded 10 runs in that over as Wriddhiman Saha hit him for two boundaries in the over.

He was brought in the attack in the 11th over again and conceded 13 runs this time. This time too he also conceded two boundaries, just like first over in the first and fourth delivery of the over. One of the boundaries was hit by Sai Sudharsan while the other one by David Miller.

Fizz came to bowl his third over in the 17th over. This time he was able to manage the wicket of Rashid Khan in exchange of only a single run on the first ball.

The second ball was a slower off-cutter on a length on the stumps, Rashid Khan toe-ended the loft, made room to get it over deep mid-wicket, holed out. A simple catch was taken by Rachin Ravindra.

The other four balls were typical Mustafizur bowling where Umesh Yadav was beaten completely.

When Mustafizur came to deliver his final over of his quota in the 19th over, almost the first two deliveries reaped similar result of the previous over.

On the second of the over, he threw a off-cutter outside off, Rahul Tewatia miscued the loft, simple and straight to the fielder at long off.

This time too the catcher was Rachin Ravindra along the boundary line.

However, Spencer Johnson hit him for four in fifth ball with a typical late-order batter’s shot as he slammed over extra-cover and into the gap.

With that bowling, Mustafizur ended at 2 wickets for 30 runs in his four overs with an economy rate of 7.50.
