Why is studying boring to us?

Studying in Bangladesh

I remember when I was a kid, studying in the primary school, I was told that I must study well from class 1 to 5, getting A+ in board exam is the pillar to a successful career and if I get A+, I’ll be eligible to study at a renowned high school.

After getting an A+ I was admitted to a renowned high school and there I was told that getting A+ in Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) will pave the way for my future success. It’s crucial to attain A+.

I finally attained A+ in both the exams as well.

After getting admitted to a college, I was said that my previous landmarks don’t matter, I should have an excellent academic result and get myself admitted to a top subject of top university.

Well, I did that too. Now, after being admitted to a university, I am being told that, my university life is the most valuable time of my life, make it count.

All of these are true but is it really what we should strive after?

Striving “this after this” will eventually loosen our interest in study. Striving after landmarks take us nowhere, it rather makes our educational life boring.

We should try to learn, we shouldn’t study just to get good grades.

In my life, I observed the fact that whenever I tried to run after an educational landmark, I have always found little to no interest at all and boredom embraced me.

Our mentality of “Getting the job done” takes us nowhere and we eventually forget what we learned before.

Yes, education landmarks matter too but what is the purpose of education if It’s not learned, not applied? Doesn’t education lose it’s value?

Yes, it does. But if we learn from the core, learn from the basic then trust me there is nothing more enjoyable than education, There’s nothing more rejoicing, nothing will give you more platonic pleasure.

It will grow our love for education and when we do end up being enamored by it, landmarks will follow us, landmarks will find us.

Pursue your passion and the world will be yours.

Greats always learn, Greats don’t strive after success, Success strives after them.
