A story of deep crisis of killed Nahid’s family

Nahid, who was working in the courier service, died on night on April 19 while undergoing treatment in Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in a clash between businessmen and students of Dhaka College in New Market area. Nahid died of excessive bleeding due to injuries sustained during the collision.

An autopsy of Nahid’s body was completed at noon on April 20. Farhana Yasmin of forensic department conducted an autopsy on Nahid’s body.

Nahid Mia was living in Rani Market area of Kamrangirchar. Only over 18 years of age.

Nahid was working as a deliveryman in a courier service to bring prosperity to the needy family. How many dreams and how many hopes there were.

Nahid had a small family with father, mother, two younger brothers and wife Dalia. One of Nahid’s brothers is 6 years old. Another is only 2 years old. Nahid’s parents built a house on a small piece of land they got from Nahid’s grandmother with a loan. The house is standing somehow. Nahid lived on the third floor and his parents lived on the second floor.

Dalia was married to Nahid eight months ago. They had a love marriage. But in an instant, her family vanished into thin air. All dreams were shattered. She had to be a widow.

The life arranged in the love of her husband seemed to have become random. Nahid’s photo album is now her only surviving material. Mehendi drawing was seen in Dalia’s hand even after Nahid’s death where it was written ‘I love you Nahid’.

In a tearful voice, Dalia said, “It doesn’t feel good not to see him once. How can I live without him now? Who will give me hopes now?”

As the saying goes, the corpse of the son on the father’s shoulder is heavier than lifting a mountain in earth. Father Nadim Hossain is speechless after losing his son. Sitting in the morgue of Dhaka Medical, he was staring at the cloudy sky. He said, “Nahid is the eldest of my 3 sons. I have a small job at a Matador company. On Tuesday I go to work at 8 o’clock in the morning. Later I found out on the phone that Nahid had also gone to work. He was later injured in a clash in the Newmarket area. I don’t know who killed my son. I will never get my son back. I leave the burden of judgment to God. And I expect the Prime Minister to do the rest.”

However, Nahid’s mother Nargis Begum did not want to file a case even though she wanted justice for the murder of her son. “We will not get him again,” she said.

Now she is thinking about how they are going to pass their life without her son.

There is a debt of about eight to ten lakh taka. Nahid was slowly repaying the loan. She is also worried about how the money will be paid after his death.

It is expected that the government will stand by the fair trial of the murder of innocent Nahid and the family of the deceased.
