University of Chittagong Students Receive Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award at British High Commission
Five students from the Department of Banking and Insurance at the University of Chittagong have been honored with the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award, the highest level of the internationally recognized youth development program.
The University of Chittagong Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award recipients were recognized at the 10th Gold Award Ceremony, held at the residence of the British High Commissioner on United Nations Road in Baridhara. Around 150 young achievers from across Bangladesh received the Gold Award at the ceremony.
The awarded University of Chittagong students are Eusha Jaman Turzo, Asma Binte Rashid, Mabsurah Morshed, Nowshin Arafa Bhabna, and Karin Saffana. Their achievement reflects sustained commitment to leadership development, community service, physical activity, skill building, and an adventurous journey, which are core requirements of the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award.
The event was hosted by British High Commissioner Sarah Cooke, who congratulated the awardees for their dedication and perseverance. British Deputy High Commissioner and Development Director James Goldman and Rizwan Bin Farouq, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Bangladesh, were also present at the ceremony.
Speaking at the event, Rizwan Bin Farouq said earning the Gold Award requires strong discipline and a deep sense of service. He praised the University of Chittagong Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award recipients for proving their leadership potential beyond academic excellence.
Several prominent guests attended the ceremony, including Mirza Salman Ispahani, Chairman of the Ispahani Group, along with other distinguished business leaders and dignitaries.
This recognition highlights the University of Chittagong’s continued efforts to encourage student development beyond the classroom and promote leadership, responsibility, and global awareness among its students.
