PHP Automobiles introduced its most highly-anticipated Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) model to date, the Proton X50 through a grand event at Halishahar area in Chattogram recently.

The organizers claimed the luxury SUV poised to further redefine Proton as a trendsetter, with a stronger emphasis on enticing the Generation-Y crowd through its slick and unique designs and vibrant selection of dual-tone colours.

Proton X50 comes with a number of new and enhanced performance and powerful connectivity features which deliver real value to consumers looking for an affordable, yet inclusive and technology-driven vehicle with auto parking features.

PHP Automobiles started its journey in 2017, gradually adding more and more cars to their lineup.

The latest addition, Proton X50 is a state-of-the-art talking car of the SUV category.

The car is also capable of auto-parking on voice command. In addition, the car is also capable of automatically turning on the AC, opening the sunroof and windows, and many more tasks through voice command.

Under the hood, the X50’s 1.5-litre direct-injected three-cylinder engine outshines and easily distinguishes itself apart from its competitors. Proton says the rear of the X50 aims to give a confident final salute.

The key features of the rear fascia include stylish taillights, with flowing graphics on the insides, a neat feature to have in a car of this range.

On the seats, black and red leather gives the cabin a nice sporty feel, whereas the red ‘soft-touch’ top section of the dashboard contrasts the satin metallic finish of the dashboard fascia and centre console for a sublime premium feel.

Passengers get treated to a relatively comfortable and spacious interior that’s amplified by the panoramic retractable sunroof as well as access to three USB ports, one under the “floating” floor console and two behind the centre armrest.

The 10.25-inch floating type touchscreen infotainment system immerses the driver with multimedia functions. Driving confidence is further bolstered by the braking system which provides a significant amount of bite to slow things down when needed and is rather similar to more European makes.

The smooth yet quick-shifting seven-speed dual-clutch transmission gives the front wheels a lot more pop in terms of responsiveness and power surges.

The consumers can get after-buying services from the company through a mobile phone application named Perfect Vehicle Solution (PVS). Any buyer of Proton cars can avail the services at their disposal.

Mentionable, PHP family established the first private sector owned assembly plant of the country in 2015.

The luxury vehicle was unveiled through a grand ceremony at the PHP Automobiles factory at Naya Bazar area in city’s Halishahar area.

Welcoming remarks were made by PHP Automobiles Managing Director (MD) Mohammed Akther Parvez in the programme presided over by PHP Family Chairman Sufi Mohammad Mizanur Rahman.

Sufi Mizanur also inaugurated the Proton X50 by handing over the key to his wife Tahmina Rahman.

“We have started making cars locally. And these locally made cars are now roaming our roads,” PHP chairman said. “We launched this SUV marking the golden jubilee of the independence of our country.”

PHP Automobiles MD Akther Parvez said “When buying new cars Bangladeshi consumers get tensed about availability of the car parts.

But with the cars assembled in Bangladesh like Proton X50, the consumers will not have to tensed.”

“Besides, we have 5-year warranty for the vehicle along with free services for upto 5 times for first five months,” he added.

ICT personality Dr Mohammad Kaikobad was also present at the programme along with ATN Bangla and ATN News Chairman Mahfuzur Rahman, Proton Malaysia’s Badlishah Abdul Hapidz, Sajjadanshin Syed Azhar Ali Nizami of Nizam Uddin Awlia Dargah of Delhi in India, and Syed Saifuddin Al Hasani Al Maizbhandari of Maizbhandar Darbar Sharif among others.

Its earlier Proton X70 SUV was successfully launched in March in last year virtually and sold big number of quantity.

Since then, Proton’s brand perception has shifted considerably with vast improvements made to its product quality and technological superiority.
